Hightop Poultry Equipment supplies all kinds of brooder heaters such as heat light, infrared heat lamp, diesel heater, gas heater, these are used to keep poultry or animals warm.
What is a brooder heater?
A brooder heater is a machine that is used to keep poultry or animals warm.
Why do I need a brooder heater?
A brooder heater is especially useful for chicks that have just hatched because it is important to maintain the temperature of their environment to improve their survival rate. Warm temperatures can also increase the laying rate for chickens.
How to choose a brooder heater
We have four popular types:
- diesel heater
- hover-type heat light
- infrared heat lamp
- gas brood heater
Diesel Heater Machine
The diesel heater uses kerosene or diesel as combustion fuel, enabling it to blow hot air. This type of heater can be used in various situations for temporary or supplementary heating. When it operates the fuel in the tank is drawn into the fuel spray nozzles where it is ignited so that it can burn in the combustion chamber.
Some of the heat produced by combustion effectively heats the air, some of which enters the combustion chamber providing oxygen that produces high-temperature flue gas. Most of the air makes contact with the outer wall of the combustion chamber conducting heat and producing hot gas. Some of the high-temperature flue gas combines with this hot gas before the gas is discharged. Direct combustion ensures that the burning fuel fills the heating area.
A word of warning: Even though 100 percent of the fuel is burnt there are still traces of carbon monoxide. If this accumulates in the heating area and there is no proper ventilation it can kill.
The normal combustion of the diesel heater depends on the supply air. Therefore, the heater cannot be refitted. If components are lost or demounted, the machine cannot be used. Similarly, you cannot refit the machine’s safety device. The heater will have to be replaced.
Features of diesel heater
- Direct fired heaters that do not require a chimney
- Diesel fuel or kerosene is used for heating
- Gas atomization burners are incorporated
- Stainless steel combustion chamber with an automatic cooling device
- Electronic flame monitoring
- Automatic electronic safety control devices
Scope of diesel heater
Diesel fuel heaters may be used in many different locations including plant warehouses, for various infrastructures like floor construction or interior construction, for temporary heating, and emergency rescue and heating. They are also suitable for agricultural heat drying, and of course for poultry and livestock farming where heating is needed for breeding and to keep brooding chickens warm.

This kind of heat light for brooding chickens is the newest automatic type of breeding heating equipment available. It boasts a hanging type design that is easy to install and simple to operate. Hover-type poultry heat light has automatic controls for temperature, and they maintain a constant temperature that provides uniform heating without human supervision. At the same time the temperature is adjustable. This new design solves the problem of uneven heating, particularly for brooders on the lower level of cages.
Application of Poultry Heat Light
These heaters are environmentally friendly and energy saving, and they are already widely used for all kinds of industrial and domestic heating including indoor room and outdoor patios, poultry farms, greenhouses, workshops, terraces, and churches.
- Poultry-livestock heating Widely used in chicken and pig farms while the fowls are growing and being weaned.
- Commercial heating Used in sports halls, in churches, on terraces, in garages, exhibition halls, and public buildings.
- Industrial heating Used in industrial buildings, workshops, vehicle repair centers, and warehouses.

- Industrial heating Used in industrial buildings, workshops, vehicle repair centers, and warehouses.
Directions for using gas heaters
Ignition of gas brooder heaters may be manual or automatic. One gas heater can supply sufficient heat for 25 sq metres and about 400 chicks.
Gas heater installation height from ground should be about 1-1.5m.
